A trip to the fair

As a new parent, you try to do things as a family that, while you know they won't be conscious memories for your child, perhaps lodged in the back of her mind somewhere will be the notion that her parents took her out to do fun things on the weekend.  So, today we set out to a spring fair at a farm about a half hour away.

There were many stalls with educational activities, crafts, and local food goods.  Antonia loved these...

There was a band playing in a big tent and a lady selling eggs produced on the farm.  Antonia couldn't get enough of that folksy music...

We bought some of the eggs and went to visit the chickens that laid them.  Antonia just thought that was so cool...

It was such an exciting day for Antonia, it was hard to calm her down.  We patted ourselves on the back for a parenting job well done.

  1. Job well done, indeed. Hey, you did your part and you have pictures to prove it. I'm sure she was taking it all in on some subconscious level.

  2. At least you know how to get her to sleep.

  3. The NYC psychoanalysts vote for mega-points scored and stored in the unconscious! Looks like a beautiful day, just like a dream... So happy to finally catch up with the rolling, babbling, laughing and generally awesome Miss A and her parents. Love to you all, and thanks for so much pleasure in these updates.

  4. Awww- I agree that the love and joy will register in her being somehow, someway( and will include the wonderful sense of humor of her mom!). Hope you and Andy had fun!
